Gataway

M/S GETAWAY is one of the most luxurious yachts available for charter in the Eastern Mediterranean and she certainly lives up to her name with her very comfortable cabins, vast number of amenities, and all tailor-made itineraries. Launched from the shipyard in March 2009, this yacht is a strong contender to be the favorite of any discerned traveller who desire’s nothing but the best during their time at sea. Designed to be modern yet traditional she provides the ultimate comfort outdoors and indoors with her open spacious design and light coloured interiors. Unusual amongst many gulets is the level of attention that was paid to her sail performance. Getaway’s sail plan and deck layout were designed with a high level of cruising performance in mind whilst still ensuring this yacht is simple, safe and enjoyable to sail.
Getaway may be brand new but her crew certainly is well experienced. Led by Captain Sakin Biyik who has over 10 years experince as a charter captain, the crew of 4 is very friendly, english speaking, and all have served on luxury yachts.

Aft Deck

Entering Getaway from the aft passarelle leads to a spacious and comfortable outdoor lounging area. This space is ideal for alfresco dining or escaping from the heat of the mid day sun to enjoy a good book or a mid day nap whilst still enjoying the fresh sea breeze. Guests can also enjoy the fold down TV to watch movies or their personal videos and even track their trip via connection to the onboard GPS.

Walking through the glass sliding doors ahead will lead you into the main salon. The large panaromic windows allow for a great 360 view bringing the outside in with you. Situated on the portside is a large bar area with a mini bar and wine cooler where you will be able to find the drink of your choice. Across from the bar is a casual seating group where you can enjoy your refreshing drinks in the comfort that is provided by the AC. In the fwd part of the main salon is a more formal dining table which can easily seat every guest. This is also a perfect location to relax and enjoy a movie on those chillier nights. A 42 inch TV rises out behind a cabinet which is situated just aft of the helm station.

Accommodation Deck

Access to the lower deck is provided by a central staircase on the fwd side of the main salon. The stairs lead to a wood cladded and white painted corridor which gives access to all the guest cabins. Above the corridor is a skylight which allows for natural lighting during the day and bringing more of the exterior into the interior. On the portside is a large spacious galley where the sumptuous meals are prepared. Getaway’s galley is equipped with all the high brand home comforts. All cabins are en suite, have 24 hour air conditioning and heating which are individually controlled, full length mirrors, vanity tables with make up mirror, reading lights, safes to lock away personal belongings, a full range of entertainment equipment such as dvd player, LCD screen HD televisions and connection to satelite TV and the onboard GPS. Every bathroom is equipped with a home style toilet and large showers with rain shower heads. Fwd of the galley is the VIP cabin which sleeps two in a queen size bed. The starboard side houses two cabins which can be converted from twins to a double set up forming king size beds. The master cabin is found furthest fwd and is abundantly spacious with large his and hers wardrobe, with ample space for hanging long summer dresses. Guests can sleep in comfort on the californian king sized bed and enjoy the fresh outdoor air via the many portholes located in this cabin making sure they don’t lose contact with the beautiful turquoise waters.

Engine room and Electrical systems

Getaway’s engine room and electrical systems are accessed via a hidden door in the Galley. The engine room is separated from the guest cabins by a crew lounge as well as the Galley to reduce noise. To bring noise levels even lower there is a heavy level of soundproofing all around the engine room. Getaway, when sailing under motor is powered by two 350Hp heavy duty Cummins engines, which allows her to sail full speed continuously if ever necessary. Two 27kW Kohler generators are onboard each one sufficient for the entire yachts power demand. All electrical switchboards, service batteries, battery chargers etc have been kept out of the engine room to reduce the level of heat they are submitted to. This allows a better operating environment for the entire system and ensuring a much lower risk of failure. the engine room itself is very spacious and all machinery is easy to access and maintain.

Flybridge

A unique feature of GETAWAY in comparison to other gulets is its spacious flybridge which encompasses a secondary fully operational helm station with all the necessary navigation equipment. The flybridge has been extended to allow a larger seating area with two tables and a sunbathing platform wide enough for five guests. There is also a mini-fridge, electric grill, and speakers which are connected to the main entertainment console on the main deck. Guests may go up to the flybridge using the staircase located in the aft seating area. Enjoying a quiet romantic meal under moonlight in a secluded bay or ice cold champagne during sunset with the great panorama of the serene natural surroundings is an experience that will be hard to erase from your memory.

Ammenities

If you make your way forward on the main deck you will be amazed at the immense size of the teak deck sun tanning area with a total of eight sun tanning mattresses. Here guests have the option of sunbathing or the crew can also open the bimini which is mounted onto the main mast if you prefer to spend your time in the shade. The triangular construction of the pulpit allows guests to stand at the most forward point of GETAWAY and enjoy cruising with waves splashing underneath their feet. It is a great spot to grab when dolphins visit the bow on occasion. Amenities onboard include daily linen and towel change, free internet access, satellite TV in all cabin&saloon&aft seating area, HD televisions/DVD players/CD players/iPOD centers, Playstation 3 console, air-conditioning in all the rooms and salon, board games and card games, kayaks, waterskiing, wakeboarding, monoskiing, knee-boarding and scuba diving. For those who are searching for some adrenalin there are also two donuts which can be pulled by the dingy. Surfboards and windsurfs can also be brought onboard upon request.
