Clarissa

CLARISSA is a ketch-rigged motor-sailor, meticulously handcrafted in wood and steel to a traditional design. She is the fulfillment of her Danish owner’s dream to own a beautiful and yet sturdy yacht with all the charm of a traditional Turkish motor-sailor and all the safety features of a certified oceangoing vessel. As testimony to the success of the undertaking, CLARISSA crossed the Atlantic Ocean, bound for the Caribbean and a year later returned to the Mediterranean, where she has been based ever since.

The quality of craftsmanship extends from her superbly maintained Burmese teak decks through to the beautifully appointed interior, which features paneled mahogany joinery throughout. The yacht’s technological components have been brought in from Denmark and elsewhere in Europe, including – of course – a Bang & Olufsen sound system. So good is the clarity of sound from this system, that it is easy to conjure up the perfect atmosphere for a sunset gathering on the private forward deck or an elegant five-course meal around the enclosed aft dining table – perfectly designed for the highest level of privacy, even while in port.

CLARISSA’s rigging and sails have been imported from Denmark, and as she was designed to have an excellent sailing ability, it is quite a thrill to have the crew hoist the sails so that you may enjoy this experience. The yacht has just completed a partial refit as part of her routine “winter-work” and her captain is anticipating that CLARISSA will make speeds of more than 12 knots under sail – provided there is a good, strong breeze. While sailing may be fun for part of the day, when the winds begin to drop, the yacht has powerful twin engines that will see you quickly and quietly into the next port of call.

While at anchor, there are a wide range of water sports and leisure activities to choose from, such as snorkeling, swimming, water-skiing and more. Sit back, relax and enjoy the view from the well-protected cockpit, with a hot coffee and a selection from the yacht’s galley, before taking a refreshing swim – descending first via the transom ladder to the swim platform before kicking off into the clear blue waters that surround the yacht. There is always a crew member on hand to assist you, their aim being to cater to your every need.

CLARISSA accommodates up to eight guests in four spacious staterooms. Each cabin has its own entertainment system, individually controllable air-conditioning, and a luxurious private en suite bathroom finished in mahogany and granite. Aft of the saloon is the full-width master cabin with king-size bed and two large windows admitting abundant natural light. Alongside the master cabin is a double cabin with queen-size berth and an en suite bathroom fitted with a tub. Forward of the saloon are two identical double cabins, each offering a queen-size berth and a delightful, welcoming decor.

The chef aboard CLARISSA is a talented Turkish woman with a passion for the art of cookery. Most meals are served around the cockpit table, although it is possible to dine indoors in the yacht’s luxuriously-appointed saloon.

Afternoon snacks can be enjoyed on the forward deck’s cushioned seating area, which is also the perfect place to gather for a glass of chilled champagne and accompanying hors d’oeuvres at the end of the day.

Together with her experienced Captain and crew, CLARISSA embodies all the essential elements of fun and carefree cruise vacation.
